Only getting 27 mpg!

I know that in extreme cold, mpg will suffer but I am averaging 27 mpg on trips of approximately 10 miles combination hwy/city. The temperature in Chicago has been below 10 degrees.

    Caused by the extreme cold weather + short trips. What did you get when the weather was warm?

    Yeah, those are the two worst possible combinations for MPG. No doubt you need longer warmups and run longer on a rich mixture; also the engine doesn't have time to reach peak efficiency.
