Speedometer not working on my 1998 Dakota, had transmission rebuilt.

    Did the PCM have to be repaired/replaced when the transmission was repaired? Has anyone pulled codes and monitored data from the PCM, TCM and IPC?

    Is your ABS light on as well?

    hi yes the abs light is on , no they did work on the pcm

    its stuck in third gear and speedometer is not working

    well they got trans to shift , but no speedometer , he said the wire harness was bad and speed sensor was replaced, still trying to figure that out

    If your ABS light is on and the speedometer isn't working, chances are pretty good that the speed sensor in the differential is bad---did they replace that one or some other sensor. The differential speed sensor is a simple fix--20 minute job.
