Bad transmission seal

My son just purchased a new 2016 AWD RDX. With only about 200 miles, he noticed oil underneath. Returned to deal, they said transmission seal bad. First one they had ever seen fail. Any one else has this problem.

    The vehicle is probably too new on the marketplace for any evidence of a common problem. It's certainly possible that a new seal could leak if it isn't inserted properly at the assembly point. Also if the car has been sitting in storage for a long time, that could harden a seal. It's also possible that the transmission was overfilled or has a breather that isn't functioning properly. Certainly, if this happens again, it warrants more investigation than simply putting in yet another seal.
