Electrical problems with SRX

Hello. I have a 2006 SRX with 167,000 miles on it. Recently, the battery keeps dying, but battery and alternator are both good. When battery is being jumped, loud popping noises come out of the speakers. Sometimes it does it with the engine off and key out of the ignition. It is now in the shop for the third time.
Sometimes the radio works, sometimes not. I had the battery go dark and the dash light up a couple of times with the locks activating-all this while driving on the highway.
The mechanic thinks I need a new radio.
Any ideas?

First of all, someone has to figure out why the battery is being drained. If it starts with a jump, then something has drained it. If the car's battery and charging system can't supply proper voltage, the car's various computer modules and sensors are going to become very erratic.
