You'll have to work off comparables for sale, preferably in your general area. You should present at least three. If you and the insurance co. can't reach an agreement you have the right to hire your own appraiser. If no settlement can be reached then your policy's arbitration clause will be invoked and a hearing will be held. This is normally binding unless you were not at fault and another insurance co. is also involved...then you have further legal rights.
