Headlights go on and off while I'm driving.

I HAVE A 1999 OLS ALERO AND THE HEAD LIGHTS HAVE STARTED GO OFF AT RANDOM TIMES . THE WIPERS AND HEATER BLOWER ALL GO OFF .THE CAR WILL KEEP RUNNING. CAN YOU HELP ME OUT?

  • yes they do ,this happens with the car cold and hot. this morning it happened as soon as the car started . then they came on and stayed for the whole trip to work. then tonight it did the exact same thing and stayed until I got home . the trip is at least 1 hour or more.

    Just guessing here but the Alero is known to have a problem with water leaking from the fresh air outlet area onto the Body Control Module. This corrodes various connectors and often wipes out the BCM itself.

    where do I find this module and will it need to be replaced or just cleaned up ?

    i found the controller I am going to try to clean the connectors

    checked the module it was clean. my next question is could it be a loose ground wire going to that module

    if so where would that wire be located?
