I have replaced the battery, the alternator is good. I turn the key ignition on and NOTHING. All lights turn on and go off after a few seconds. No clicking noise. It turns om quickly when it is jumped I can re enter car a few times, but after a day or so the same problem. What can I check to solve this problem. Don't want to be stranded with 2 year old alone somewhere with no one to help. Any suggestions please help. I am borrowing money left ans right an I need car for my medical treatment appointments that I deserately need. Thank you

If it starts right up with a jump and keeps running for a few hours then it must be a problem with the battery cable connections--corrosion. looseness, something like that. The extra power of a battery jump could overcome the electrical resistance on bad or loose battery cables.

So you bought a brand new battery, and it was fully charged when you bought it? You can always go back to the place you bought that battery and have them check it, as well as your alternator. If they both check out, and if a jump start always works, you have a battery cable issue.
