    speed is not the problem. the problem is how easy it is to get a driver license in US.

    kiiwii has a point. Most of us who travel to Europe realize the startling lack of competence among American drivers, to say nothing of the mental state.

    I have two reactions:
    1-Of course there are more deaths, is that a surprise to anybody??
    2-I automatically question the numbers these studies claim, there have been many claims of XX deaths caused by this, YY deaths caused by that, all while death rates were constantly dropping. It's VERY easy to over-estimate these kinds of things.
