5000 seems to be a very low value for these cars unless that is on top of blue book retail value. There is no excuse to the owners to not get paid a premium on top of the value for VW's lies and illegal activities

$5000 is compensation to the owner. Not the buyback amount

I bought my 2011 Jetta TDI used in June 2014. I hope VW considers people who bought used. We were duped and paid $4K premium over the same used cars with gas engines. I am still upside down on my loan and blue book plus 5K won't cover my loan plus my down payment.
