My 98 Ford Ranger v6 is turning over and has new battery but will not start?

It did putter on way home last night as if not getting gas....fuel pump maybe?? what about i see people talking about a relay??

You'll have to make two tests here---one for fuel pressure (requires a gauge plugged into the fuel rail) and another for spark (a simple spark tested you can buy). Until you know what you are lacking, you can't solve the problem accurately, only guess at it
