Normal for new Jettas to be manufactured in Mexico?

I'm in northern California, Bay Area. I have talked to a couple of dealers and looked up some of their new vehicles online by VIN. It seems that many are manufactured in Mexico, not in Germany.

Is that normal for VWs in the states? Possible to find one directly from Germany?

I don't think they make the US version of the Jetta in Germany. Pretty sure that they all come from Mexico. VW has been building cars in Mexico for decades.
