How long does it take for dealers to pay you for a car that is fully paid-off?

I have approached several dealers to get offers for my car. Some said that they can pay immediately. A few said that payments could take up to a few weeks. Is it normal for such a wide time range?

    I think the ones that want to wait are worried about discovering title issues, once they process the paperwork with the DMV
