  • BMW makes great powertrains. Smooth, quiet, economical, super-wide powerbands (thanks, turbocharging...) and they are always underrated by the mfg.

    All of the German manufacturers have just a truckload of very intensive experience with various flavors of forced induction, and it really shows.
  • Good to know that stepping up to the 340 doesn't penalize efficiency too badly. My 2015 328i xdrive wagon is just a hair short of the 26 mpg combined EPA rating over 10,000 mile. I do drive with any eye towards fuel efficiency and will also have fund from time to time Got 34 mpg highway with the cruise set at 80. Not too bad.
