DOC fees?

what is the standard doc fee? I had a dealer ADD in $650 for doc fees on a new RAV 2016 and I thought this was just padding their cost. I know/think I read it should not cost a lot or anything.

It depends; some states limit the amount a dealer can charge (CA = $80, OH = $250), but other states don't.

Here in CO, dealer fees range from $400-600. In Florida, I've had folks post that their doc fee is as high as $899!

You want to know what that amount is going into the negotiations, and making your offer accordingly.

Thanks Mitchell. That is what I thought. Here in NOVA it is somewhere between $500 to $700 and it looks like when there is a rebate like $1250 from Toyota the doc fees goes up.
WE have a standing offer for $23,000 OTD plus TTL for a 2016 Rave AWD LE ... must be a pretty motived dealer to meet their sales forecast.
