ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING AFTER PURGE VALVE REPLACEMENT
I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS AWD. My check engine light has been on for a while, and I was told it was because of a faulty purge valve, and that it wasn' t really serious. I finally got around to replacing it (did it myself, but seemed fairly straight forward). I took it out for a drive, and after about 10 minutes, I could feel the car pulse slightly, almost like I was letting off the gas, and the check engine light started blinking, but only for a few seconds. Any idea what could have caused this?

You have described a misfire event, but without its cause being diagnosed and proven you'll only get suggestions to try tossing parts. Misfires are big issues because a misfire even one for a short duration can damage the catalysts. That's what the flashing MIL means, the computer determined that there was a catalyst damaging misfire occurring.5
