    Yeah. A 60 Ford,
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,644
You're close, car with no grille is a 36 Oldsmobile.

Car directly behind the Stude is a 36 Ford. Car behind Stude at the curb appears to be a 35 Dodge.

Behind the Kaiser is a Hudson although not sure of the model - would that be a Straight Eight?

The car with the missing grille in front of the Studebaker - has it got portholes on the sides of the hood ie a Buick?

Finally car behind the Studebaker looks like a 38 or so Ford I think

That all time classic of classics, a 60 Ford, this one a Galaxie 4 door post.

Did Ford sell more full size cars than Chevy in 1960? From all these look back pics at different locations it seems so.

I went to a 300 to 400 car cruise on Saturday. Not 1 1960 Ford. Previous years there had been a wagon and I believe another year a convertible. Several Chevies of that year.

Let's take a swing past Jack Poet Pontiac on Hollywood Blvd in 1973 to look for a cool set of new used wheels.

Love the 70 road runner, next to another of my favorites, a gen 1 Capri with a snazzy vinyl top.

Center left, a land cruiser that would be worth a bundle today. Middle a nice Volvo P1800.

And lots of big domestic boats!

Two to the left of the FJ40 looks like a Toyota Corona Mark II. Front row far right looks like another Corona, this one with an anomaly distorting the rear side window.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,806
Left front, looks like a 68ish cutlass next to a Granville.

I believe I see a '69 or '70 Pontiac Grand Prix in the second row partly hidden by the Caddy up front. There is a 2-door HT of indeterminate make next to it but by the way the rear wheels are deeply inset into the rear quarter panels I suspect it may be a Ford or Mercury.

Big jag sedan hiding on the left. And a tasty 911 on the right.

Interesting 71ish Torino in front of the MGB GT. maybe a cobra?

Jag is likely a Mark IX. 2 behind it appears to be a then-new Monte Carlo.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Ahead of the Torino is a Chevy Vega and in front of that is the oldest visible car an early 50s Buick ('54-56?)

A '68/'69 Torino fastback parked ahead of the 911. And on the opposite curb a '63/'64 Riviera.

Apparently that shade of Copper (orange/red/brown) was new for '57. CCopper has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years.

Back then cars had extended model names so that's a 1957 Super 88 Holiday Coupe.

That 57 Olds was beautifully styled, IMHO at the time, and the copper brown color was fairly popular in my rural area. Also the green and yellow combo which I believe was shown in ads was somewhat popular with the bold folks.

Fredericktown, Ohio, early 1970s. Nice size.

Tough decision across the street. Should I but that new color TV I've been saving for from the Philco dealer., or the Zenith guy?

'63 Ford (Galaxy) in lower right corner. Saw one in reality last night, black w sloped NASCAR
roof... huge looked like it took two parking spaces. Blue '66 version parked 3 cars up.

nice blue 68 Camaro. On steelies, which is odd looking. The early Falcon up from it definitely does not seem to be on stock tires/wheels. and on the right, red 65ish Chevy II/Nova next to a later 60s round version in green.

little white car seems to be the only import other than the VW bus. Maybe an Austin Marina?

I've always had my doubts about Ford products. :sunglasses: Although the Philco radio we had in our '74 Maverick was possibly the best part of the entire car!

I think the small white car is an Opel Kadett. Blue Ford a few cars up is a 65 Galaxie.

The original Philco radio my dad's 68 Fairlane worked fine in the 90s.

Small point. The 65 Ford isn't a Galaxie. The Galaxie tail lights filled the entire housing. That one is a lower trim Custom or Custom 500.

I think rental row, signs with spot numbers behind the cars, all parked nose out, no general parking lot would look like that.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,644
I was thinking the same - many rental cars there. Full size probably lightly optioned domestic cars, just like now. By the lineup I will guess 1967.

I was at your former Pease AFB for an air show when a regularly scheduled 727 commercial flight arrived. The air show announcer said "let's greet this arriving "Kerosene Queen"", a nickname for the 727. There must have been passengers on board who didn't know that there was an air show that day at Pease and seeing the thousands of people there, looked around the cabin to see what famous person was on board.

Is the red job between the white '66 (or '67) Ford and the burgundy '67 Chevy by any chance an Ambassador?
