car will not stay on

My 2000 Impala will start up but it's not getting any power when you step on the gas... All it does is shut off... Can someone please tell me what they think might be wrong with it... I do know that it is not my fuel pump at all... that has been checked...

    Well if a fuel pressure test wasn't done then that doesn't rule out a fuel pump. You might start with having the car scanned for trouble codes and see if anything comes up.

    This could be caused by many many things. There's no answer online. It requires methodical, step by step diagnosis, unless you want to just start replacing things, which is often expensive and a waste of money.

    So get a scan and let us know what it said, if anything.
