Noise in dash near passengers airbag

After turning off the jeep, every time, I hear a horrible crunching sound lasting about a minute 
sounds like the airbag is crunching down. 
Located passenger side. It is so loud it can be heard from a good distance from the vehicle

I doubt it has anything to do with the airbag---they don't "move" at all until they are detonated.

It's possible this could be an air blend door struggling to close after you shut the car off--so it's related to your HVAC system.

Someone's going to have to put on his miner's helmet and go down there

It's not always about affordability of the mechanic, it's about, as you say, honesty and skill.

If there's no one on this list near you, then I'd consult with AAA recommended shops in your area. Looks like Tuscon Auto Repair on West River Road is recommended by AAA.

Thank you, could this be why my heat/cool doesn't seem too be as forceful as it used to be?

how do I find a honest machanic in Tucson?  I am alone and on a tight budget.
