2005 Chevy Colorado 2.8 4 cylinder shuts off after about 45 seconds ..

Engine will start and run smoothly. Startsbdying after 30 to 45 seconds later like it's running out of gas or air... What would cause this problem?

Could be many things. First thing that needs to be determined is whether the engine has lost spark or fuel when this occurs.

Have any codes been set and retrieved? Could be loss of fuel pressure, a faulty crank or cam sensor, or even (gulp) a defective PCM.
