2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel engine

Problem with power on the engine. If I take the rpm' up slowly it is fine but when I floor it, it falls on its face. Thought maybe it was the CAT as I had that happen on a Benz, but nothing was plugged. Fuel injector/pump or turbo? 175,000mi on car.

    Always a good idea on tracking down driveability problems a diesel to first of all pull codes and if nothing show then service your fuel filter and see how the engine reacts to that.

    Otherwise, with no other clues you'll have to test fuel pressure throughout the system.
