Hi sdsualums. BMW Financial Services' November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2011 328i Convertible with 10,000 miles per year are .00195 and 59%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The numbers for the 2012 335i Convertible are .00195 and 65%.

These money factors are lower for loyal customers.

    Hi Car_man,

Recently leased a car from Norwalk, CA. Just wanted to share and find out what you thought of this deal:

    Blk/blk with moonroof and xenons
    MRSP: 37425
    Selling: 32999.99
    36 months/12K
    TDO: 5700
    Monthly after tax: 276.99

    Thank you!
  • blankdazeblankdaze Member Posts: 8
Oh yeah. When negotiating the lease offer, they wouldn't budge on throwing in free floor mats. Is that common practice? I read somewhere I should have free floor mats.

Too much down pay. Should try 0 down.

    Hi Abuck,

What dealer in California did you get the deal from? Would love to explore it as well as I'm looking for a 328 right now, thanks!
  • blankdazeblankdaze Member Posts: 8
I know but I needed the monthly to be no more than 277 after tax.

Hi, Car_Man, can you provide lease rates for 15K lease on 328i xD Wagon for December? Is there difference between 2011 and 2012?
  • copaseticcopasetic Member Posts: 3
    Hi Car_Man,

I'm brand new to leasing and am really trying my best to not get overwhelmed by the amount of info and advice I'm receiving with regard to the process. I'm not succeeding very well... :)

Anyway, would love your input on this situation. I'm talking to a couple of dealers about a 328i sedan and, based on advise I've received, looking to use MSDs instead of a down payment. One dealer is offering me the following:

    2011 3 series sedan
    36 mo/15k
With: Value Pkg (Dakota Leather, iPod/USB Connection, and 17" Alloy wheels) and the Premium Package (Power Seats with Memory, Bluetooth with BMW Assist, Moonroof, Universal Garage door opener, auto-dimming mirrors, and compass)

    MSRP: $38,675
    Invoice: 36,690
    Sale: 34,344
    MSDs: 3,150

    Residual: 60%
MF rate: .00131 or 3.14% (8 deposits of $450, with the first one being absorbed, according to dealer)

Monthly payment: $413 plus tax ($449.16)

I feel as though I should be able to get into this car for less. He's telling me to go with their lease deal which is $239/mo, 24 mos/10k, $4999 down payment, and that lowering my cap cost is the only way to lower my monthly payment. He says the only difference between that and using MSDs is that I get 7 of the 8 deposits back at the end. My understanding is that I will save a lot over the course of the lease using MSDs via a tax break (I don't understand how that works), and I also thought that I would get all 8 deposits back.

    Any hints?

    Thanks!

First, you are paying too much. Check out American Express Autos (zag) http://amexnetwork.zag.com/configurator.html?makeId=2217&modelId=44&trimId=25036- 5&upfrontPricing=Y the dealer is offering the same car for $33,108. If you are a former BMW owner, is is even $1,000 less. You should be able to get this for around $33,500 - $33,750.

Your money factor looks high too. Find out what it is from Car Man. You should then be lowered by .0007 for each payment you make.

Also, consider doing the 27 month lease which has a residual in the 70s and will make the payment much less.

To put your deal into perspective, I am paying around $390 (all in taxes, bank fees, etc) on a 27 month lease 12K miles per year for a $43.5K MSRP 328xi with Navigation.

Also, if your first deposit is "being absorbed" than it is not a deposit. You will not get it back, it is a down payment.

    Be careful with this dealer.

    hi all and Car Man

i am interested in a 3 series convertible first and then a z4 and last a regular 328 xi

    1. is the MF and residuals the same for the 3 cars or do they have it different. if so, what are they
    2. Residuals, how drastic are they on 27 months, 36 months. is that their range.. or how is the leases categorized, 24 and 36?
    3. i am looking for a very high residual like 70 or so.. i like to get new cars every 2 years +
    4. require 15,000 miles per year.

what i the lowest buying price people have seen. i am interested in heated seats, AWD, Auto, heated steering, GPS.

i also have a 2011 328xi that i am considering returning.. will this be an issue in getting a good price?

what are the benefits/credits i will get due to a returning BMW customer

will the credits first be applied on my "Buy price" and then the leasing formula take over or?

    Hi Car man,

Could you provide the money factor and residual value for both 335i and 328i sedan, 2011, 12-, 24-, 36-month lease, 10K miles?

My BMW lease is about to expire this month, so I am both a loyal customer and "lease expiration" owner. According to your previous post, the money factor should be better.

    Many thanks.

    hi everyone,

It seems like there are the following incentives going on for 2011 335i/328i:
    1. $1,500 manufacturer to dealer cash
    2. $1,000 manufacturer to loyal custom cash

Are there other additional financial incentives that I've missed (for lease or purchase)?

From the BMW website, it looks like there are $1,305 option credit and/or $1,500 allowance available. Are these stack-able?

    Thanks.

    Hi all,

I've read about a 27 month lease that BMW has right now for the month of December (69% residual); however, a dealer just told me that there's no such thing. Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks.
  • MRHammarMRHammar Member Posts: 30
Yes, that is correct for 2011 328i sedans with or without x drive. The 69% residual is for 15k miles per year, 71% for 12k. I'd be hesitant to work with such an uninformed (or deceitful) dealer.

    Anou,

I just got a 2011 335i sedan and they gave me 2805 in incentives plus another 1000 for loyalty. I don't know if there was another $1500 in there to get or not - I assumed the $1500 I got was the same as the man to dealer cash.

Carman - I did not know about the special 27 mth lease rates - did that also apply to the 335i sedan. If so what were they?

    Thx

    Hi there,

I've now had two dealers tell me no such thing exists. Is it a regional or state thing? I'm in Southern California...

    Thanks.
  • MRHammarMRHammar Member Posts: 30
I suppose that is possible, but you don't have to deal with a local dealer. I would recommend visiting the ask-a-dealer forums on Bimmerfest for clarification or even to work a lease with one of the forum members.

I've heard that BMW introduced special conquest cash certificates that provide $1,500 to current owners of competitive vehicles on the 3-Series this month.

Hi copasetic. Both the selling price and the money factor that you were quoted look good. If you like the car, I personally don't see any reason not to go for this deal.

You should be refunded all eight security deposits that you make at lease-end, assuming that you don't have to pay any sort of penalty for excess mileage or excess wear and tear. You are much better off making MSDs than making a large down payment.

Good point about the term, gregga. If copasetic is in an area where BMW is running its special enhanced lease offer on the 2011 328i Sedan xDrive then going with 27-month term is an excellent idea.

Hi anandks. The lease programs for all three cars are different.

BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 328i Convertible with 15,000 miles per year are .00195 and 63%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a '12 Z4 30i are .00195 and 61%.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a '11 328xi are .00185 and 60%. Though you are better off going with a 27-month lease on this car and using .00185 and 69%.

The money factors are lower for loyal customers are lower, .00030 for regular loyal customers and .00105 lower for loyal customers with lease maturing in the next several months.

Make sure to take any available cash incentives into account when negotiating your vehicle's selling price.

Hello anou. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2011 335i Sedan with 10,000 miles per year are .00190 and 68%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36-month lease are .00190 and 62%.

    The numbers for the 2011 328i Sedan are .00180 / 69% and .00180 / 63%.

Since your BMW lease expires next month, for you these cars' money factors would be an astonishing .00105 lower.

Good question copasetic. I believe that the special 27-month program is indeed regional. It definitely exists in the Eastern and Central U.S., but if you are outside of those areas you might not be able to take advantage of it.

Hi, i am about to lease a 2011 Bmw 328xi and got a decent quote from BMW Greenwich but i think there is more room

2011 Bmw 328xi Premium package NO NAVI
Out of pocket: 3700 ( including multiple security deposits 2450 will be paid back at the end of the lease) 346 a month for 27 months with 10,000 miles

    what do you think?
  • lefty26lefty26 Member Posts: 20
    Hi Car Man
Lease on my 328xi is up 1/30/12.
If I release a new 328xi by 1/2/12 will I be eligible to reduce the money factor by .00105
and still receive the $1500 incentive
    and the $1000 loyalty
or is the reduced money factor and $1000 loyalty the same?

    Thanks and Happy Holidays
  • btinlbtinl Member Posts: 4
I was at a dealer today and I was quoted a residual value of 71% and a money factor of 0.0025 for a 27mo lease 12k mi/yr for the 328 xdrive. Should the money factor be 0.00185?
  • anouanou Member Posts: 39
    nykr95,

Does this suggest you have purchased the car way below invoice? Perhaps something like invoice + $500 (small dealer profit) - $2,805 (incentives) - $1,000 (loyalty)?

Did you lease or finance the car? I wonder if the financial term will impact the incentives / loyal "refund".

    Thanks.
  • anouanou Member Posts: 39
Depends on your credit. If your credit score is in the top-tier, then mostly definitely yes. But of course, the dealer would want to convince you otherwise and pocket the difference.
  • btinlbtinl Member Posts: 4
I just spoke with my dealer. Apparently, I did get a MF of 0.00185. The 0.0025 was shown prior to my credit check, etc.

I just got a deal on a 2011 328xi with Nav, Premium, Value, Heated Steering Wheel, Satellite Radio:

    MSRP: $42,815
    Selling Price: $35,320
    Residual: 71% - $30,398
    Money Factor: 0.00185
Drive Off: $3300 (first month, bank fee, tax, down payment) ~$2013 is going to down according to the dealer.

    Term: 27 month / 12K miles

    Payment: $316

Is this a good deal or something is not right. I tried BMWConfig site, but the numbers I am getting there are way off..
  • nykr95nykr95 Member Posts: 13
I leased the car and you should easily be able to get a 2011 under invoice.

You still get the incentives and loyalty when you lease.
