Cruise Control

Every now and then my cruise control stops working. It used to think it happening only when it was raining, but now it seems to happen rain or shine all year round. It doesn't happen often but its annoying. Once I shut down the ignition and restart it is fine. Any idea what could cause this?

Could be any number of things going on here, so all we can do is guess from this great distance. One possibility is the brake light switch (so you could test that with an ohm meter to see if it works intermittently or consistently). Another might be corrosion in the brake light bulb sockets. Another might be a too-loose cruise control cable. And finally, some "module-mystery".
