was going to school and was fine. stopped at light ,didnt want to pull itself unless push down alot on gas pedal, feels like slipping, but once up to speed it runs great with no slipping. was told because it is push button OD that there is a brain box for the transmission. but im not great with the newer electronic stuff ,so where is it and how can i find out if thats it. and as soon as it started the engine light came on

First off I'd check the transmission fluid level and then I'd have the truck scanned for trouble codes.
