Is anyone aware if BMW in New Jersey would be willing to take over my current lease in order to get me into a BMW x1?
I am currently leasing an Acura ILX 2015 with 32k miles with 10 months left on lease at $280 a month. I am very eager to switch over to BMW, just not sure if I would be able to espically keeping my payments around $400~
I am interested in 36/10k

Any input is greatly appreciated!

You can trade your Acura in - find out the payoff amount and the current trade value, so you know if you have positive or negative equity.

My opinion? Ride out the lease, then find your next ride. With 10 months left, you're likely to be upside down, and that amount will be rolled into the next lease.

    Thank you for your response.

I do agree I should wait a little. Lets say I wait 3-4 months left in lease and attempt to get into BMW X1. Is there any benefits of doing this? I was told, I won't have to worry about my minor "dings and scratches" on my Acura if I do this. Is that correct? I believe the payoff amount after my lease is 12k.

    Thank you again.

You will owe the remaining lease payments on the Acura, regardless of when you want to cut it loose.

Regarding damage, who it telling you this? The BMW dealer? I'd take that with a grain of salt - remember, they are trying to get you into a new car.

That said, I've leased plenty of cars and never had to pay a damage charge at the end.

I don't make decisions with other people's money - I'm just trying to get you to think about all the consequences.

And I greatly appreciate it! I agree, I'll wait it out for now... I am sure I'll have more questions when that time comes.

    Thank you so much.
