Izbod, thanks for the info, but I still didn't quite
understand the part about your last 5 payments on the
Murano. They're not making you pay the last 5 payments?
I thought you would have to pay the last 5 payments plus
some type of early termination fee. I appreciate any
extra input you might have. Thanks.
  • izbodizbod Member Posts: 21
I had 5 payments left @ just over 2K.....They require a $600ish early termination fee.....Thats it......no payments at all on the remaining lease term. Call them, get an early term quote prepared for you. You dont have to stay in the lease.
  • maximafanmaximafan Member Posts: 592
Wow, Izbod, that sounds pretty good to me.
I'm wondering though if they did this because
you're staying in the Infiniti/Nissan family?
While Nissan and Infiniti are on my list of
my next car, the Acura TL and the Lexus ES
and the RX are on my list too. Do you think
they'll still extend me the same courtesy if
I end up getting an Acura or Lexus? I hope
this really works out because it would
certainly alleviate the problem of rolling in
the remaining payments into a new lease and
all that good stuff! That would mean I could
keep all that separate from any negotiations
for the new car. Thanks for the info.

This is the quote I got from a dealer here in North Carolina.
Lease payment of $399 on a base FX35 with $3999 cap cost
reduction, 12K miles a year for 24 months plus $550 bank fee, $599 dealer fee, 3% tax and $125 tag fee.

    Can you believe the gall?

I've read about 12 month FX Leases, does anyone know if that is a current offer from Infiniti? If not, anyone know the current offers?
  • damavrdamavr Member Posts: 15
I heard of the 12 month lease also. My local (St. Louis) dealer was offering 12 months for $299.99 per month with $1,500 down.
  • tmsantartmsantar Member Posts: 2
Thanks damavr, I'm going to contact my local (Chicago) dealer to see if the offer is still current. Thank you for the info. Car Man if you're out there, any insight?

Does anyone know how much below invoice we can get this vehicle for? If we can combine a great ccap cost with the 12 month lease special that would be sweet? Are they willing to go like 1k under invoice for this vehicle. About a year ago I was able to get a 05 FX35 w/ tech for $450 below invoice. Anyone been able to get such a deal right now for a 06 FX35 RWD?
  • pwatts3pwatts3 Member Posts: 13
Just got back from the dealership. Seemed like I was getting a good deal, but when comparing with postings in this site, not so much. I can sure use advise. Was told that $1k over invoice was a pretty good deal.
    Location: South Florida
FX35 Rear Wd, touring, handsfree (bluetooth & keyless entry)
    MSRP: $40,560
    Price offered: $38,173 ( $1,000 over invoice)
Down payment: $1,700 ( includes first month, taxes, etc.)
    Monthly: $515 + Tax= Approx- $545
    Money factor quoted: .000540
  • pwatts3pwatts3 Member Posts: 13
Forgot to specify that it's a 12 month lease with 10k limit. Thanks.
  • mrtrancemrtrance Member Posts: 199
What is the residual value for the car? Give us either in percentage or actual value.
  • pwatts3pwatts3 Member Posts: 13
Thanks for replying. Residual Value is 81%
By the way, got another offer from another dealership with the same terms but $495/month +tax, as opposed to $515 from the other. If the other was $1,000 over invoice, I'm estimating that this one is $760 ($20 difference x 12 months-$1,000.)
  • pwatts3pwatts3 Member Posts: 13
Did the calculations and the numbers don't add up. Can anybody point if my calculations are wrong?
FX35 Rear Wd, touring, handsfree (bluetooth & keyless entry)
    MSRP: $40,560
    Price offered: $38,173 ( $1,000 over invoice)
Down payment: $1,700 ( includes first month, taxes, etc.)
    Monthly: $515 + Tax= Approx- $545
    Money factor quoted: .000540
    Residual of 81% or $32,853.60
    Monthly amount= $38,173-$32,853.60=$5,319.40/12=$443.28
    Lease fee (38,173 + 32,853) x .00054= $38.35
    Total ( pre tax)= $443.28 + $38.35= $481.63
They quoted me $515 pre tax.

Another dealer quoted me around invoice ($37,263.65, rest of numbers the same and he came up with $504 per month. I came up with $408.72.
    What gives?

Ask for the net cap cost... Maybe they added an acquisition fee into the cap cost?

Possibly that is covered in your $1700 upfront, but I'm guessing there is some sort of fee added into the cap cost..

well, not all the info is there.

I'm trying to use edmunds calculator to answer your question, but the security deposit and acquisition fee are throwing me off.

I'd also need to know exactly what your down payment is being used for (is any of it cap cost reduction?).

If I plug in what you've given, and basically negate the security deposit and fees with the down payment, I also come up with about $481.

You were right. I spoke to another one of the dealers, the one that quoted me near invoice ($37,263)and he told me that I would need to add $795 in dealer fee, $550 in acquisition fee and $150 in plate registration to the price. Pre-tax monthy would be $503.74. What I don't get the $1,688 inception fee includes the $795 dealer fee ( I thought that since its being added to the price then it would be spread out with the payments.)He also said that the residuals for 10k and 12k is the same, 81%. He said that this was right rock bottom, as he needed to make a profit...Not sure I buy it. Advise? The other dealership hasn't contacted me about the discrepancy, but I'm sure that it will be the same as the other one. Thanks
  • pwatts3pwatts3 Member Posts: 13
    Oh,and there's no security deposit.
  • qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,788
That still doesn't make sense (to me).

Ok... so we have $795+$550+$150=$1495. Great ... so what is the $1688 down being applied to?? Let's go ahead and add in the first month's payment of ~$500. So now we've got $1995 added to the cap cost ... then subtract your down payment. That means only an extra $307 net.

    I dunno. Its really confusing.

This time, I plugged the info in Edmunds lease calculator and, with ZERO down, (using the price of $37,263) I've got you at $524 INCLUDING 6% tax ($495 pretax).

After pointing the flaws with their numbers, one of the dealer came up with what looks like to be pretty good numbers. They did not break them down for me. However, two other dealers told me that they could not beat it. One said that the offer appeared to be $600 below invoice ( don't think so, though.)
    FX35 touring with handsfree
    12months, 12k miles
    $471.95/mo. tax already included
$1,620 inception fee, with first month included.
    Total out-of-pocket= $6,812.40
Another thing, dealer told me that Infinity has an "informal policy" of extending their leases with the same terms to people that pay on time. Anybody know anything about this? Any opinions on it? Thanks.
  • qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,788
I won't run the numbers again, but that sounds just about right on the money.

I previously said $524 with zero down, so putting down $1620 and getting to $472 seems good.

pikkashoe, how did the deal turned out? If this deal is for real, then I think it might be one of the best out there available. So far from my research, looks like it is kinda possible for the offer to make sense. The basic MSRP is 39300, invoice is 36126. If they are selling it for $500 bellow invoice, with $0 DP and .00042 money factor, 81% redisual value for 12 months 12000 miles / year, then the monthly payment should fall around 330-ish. Infiniti of Manhattan is also running a similar deal like this. But again, I live in Seattle, it's kinda hard to deal when you don't see the stuff infront of you. Anyways, let me know how it goes. I am also currently in the middle of applyig.

I finalized a 12 month/12,000 mile lease on FX35 with tech, touring, and hands free. I will be picking up the car tomorrow.

The best price I got was $487 a month with $1775 down. The $1775 covers first month, lease inception, dealer fees, new tag registration, and some other state rental fees. The price for the vehicle was $41,250.

My best advice to anyone doing a lease is to create a spreadsheet and do your own math. Everyone of the dealers I spoke with all tried to squeeze me out of another $30 a month, even though they claimed to be using the exact same numbers as me.
  • pwatts3pwatts3 Member Posts: 13
Is that with tax included? What Money factor, Residual and net cap cost were you quoted? I just leased mine, same package as yours but without the Tech package which is about $4,200. My price was around $37,400 ( I think they added about $300 to get the net cap cost.). In any event, my inception was $1,620 ( first month included) and monthly at $472 with tax. Residual of $81% and money factor of .00054. Maybe I have the math wrong, but I can't see how your $4,000 more in price yields only $150 more at inception and $15 more a month.Let me know. You're right about doing your own calculations. Very few of the salespeople and even finance people knew how to do it ( or at least pretended)without the computer.

    Pwatts

    Here is my deal:

    MSRP: $44,760
    Invoice: $40,657 (edmunds numbers)
    Price Paid: $41,250
    Residual (81%) $36,255
    MF: .00054
    Inception: $1775

    Here is my math:
MSRP: $44,760 (this includes the destination charge)
    Price : $41,250
    Residual (81%): $36,255.60
    MF: .00054

    Depreciation: 44,760-36,255.60= 4,994.40 (total)- Per month: $416.20
    Rent Charge: (41,250+36,255.60)*.00054= $41.85/per month
    Tax: .065*458.05= $29.77/per month

    Total after tax= $416.20+$41.85+$29.77= $487.82

The reason there is not much of a price difference is because with the tech package, the higher price increases the residual value, yet the price I am paying over invoice did not increase by the same % . When I first looked for the non tech with touring and handsfree, one dealer told me the bottom line was $600 over invoice. So when I spoke with the other dealers, I asked $600 over invoice but I said I was looking for the one with the tech package.
  • Gatorfan123Gatorfan123 Member Posts: 40
I just noticed that I had a typo on my math:

    depreciation should be 41,250-36,255.60=4994,.40

hi i am kind of new to this so please excuse me.
i wanted to know if someone can guide me in the right direction. i am currently speaking to dealer about leasing 2006 Fx35 in NYC. i went to 2 dealers so far and this is what i have gotten. let me know if its good or not.

Fx35 AWD + Touring + Handsfree Bluetooth + Technology Navigation package lease for 12 Months for 15000 miles.

I bargained it for a long while and finaly being stressed out at the end the numbers seemed something like this ..

$1500 down included title tax registration deposit first month etx etx + 515/month ( 11 months im guesing ) + ( stupid move = when i put down fully refundable $500 to hold the car which gets in next week since they didnt have it now, lady told me i would have to pay extra for dmv registration and it wasnt part of 1500 so she said at max another $150. for dmv + some lame $68.00 fee for something it was like too many little things that added up to 68) so now i am stand at $1068.00 left to pay + dmv $150 worse case or less when the car gets in. already gave $500 deposit. and then after that its $515/month for 11 months im guessing.

if i remember the numbers it was something like invoice price 421xx.00 - msrp from 46xxx i brough it down to 429xx.00. residual said someting about 81% or 371xx.00. uhm i forget to ask for money factor which i will first thing in the morning tomorrow. but based on what i have to pay can someone please tell me if this is a good deal ? or a bad deal ? because i did simple calculation that this car is costing me $7365 to keep for 12 months( 1500+150dmv+68 lamecharge = {1700 upfront + 5655 instalment (515*11)}..
edmunds calculator says NY tax is 6.25% so i guess that is something that has to be added in there somewhere ...

other dealership offered something similar but 1700 down + 550/month. so i figured this was a better deal cuz instead of 778x i am paying 7365. ofcourse if another dealership tomorrow offers something better i might move and get my $500 back but in the mean time i can definately use your professional expertise on this matter. so please help me.
    thanks.

I'm also looking at the 12 month FX 35 lease. You mention you have compared some of the other dealerships and their offers. If not Manhattan, which dealership has offered you the best package so far. Thanks.

I was quoted $41,860 for the following: FX35 with bose system, intelligent key, blue tooth, home link and after mkt dvd system. Residual 56% and Money factor .00136 for a 36 month / 12,000 mile lease. They requested a down pmt of $2,658 which includes tax, tag, title and 1st pmt.??? Is this car over priced? Are the residual and MF on target? Can anyone answer these questions. I need to get a car ASAP. ">

actualy the quotes i got was from millenium which was asking me to pay around $7700 (1700dp+550/mnth)to have the car for 1 yr with 15k mileage with tech as mentioned above. then Atlantic offered something that came out to about $7300 (1500dp+515/mnth). so i put down $500.00 but at this point i spoke to manhattan and massapeaque and seems like the city deal is really cracking me a deal. it works out to $6600.00 (3400dp+291/month which they are willing to adjust with more month and less dp) i am going there right now to see what they have to offer and what they are hiding. i will post it as soon as i find out. i guess atlantic will have to refund me the deposit. as far as massapeaque they offered flat 579*12 no dp or 1600dp+485/11 mnth which is still like 6900+150dmv so about 7k. better then atlantic or millenium. manhattan seems to be the best at $6600 with 15k 12month and tech package and i think they have the car in stock as well unlike others... i dont know what it is but it sounds verrry fishy and too odd to be so low. but if its good i will indeed come back and post it here and give them props. please make it a point to tell me if any of my calculation is wrong or i might be looking at it in a wrong way or something. i am still new at this. thanks.

    izbod,

i'm finalizing my 12 month lease on an 06 FX right now and I'd like to get the option to extend the lease for an additional 6 months. A couple questions:

    1. who do i talk to in order to get this option? the dealer is clueless.

    2. are the extra six months at the same monthly payment or are the remaining payments calculated based on a revised residual?

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi namja007. Infiniti Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for 12 month lease of a 2006 FX35 AWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00053 and 81%, respectively. Infiniti is not currently providing any cash incentives on this vehicle.

Hi mrtrance. Given the fact that Infiniti is not currently providing any cash incentives on the FX, I doubt that you will be able to get one for below dealer invoice. I am not intimately familiar with the market for this model right now, but $500 or so over invoice sounds like a reasonable price on an '06 FX to me. You should be able to get an idea of how much you will have to pay for one right now by visiting the following discussion: "Infiniti FX45 / FX35: Prices Paid & Buying Experience".

Hello infamousx. It appears as though you are getting this vehicle for around $800 over dealer invoice. This is a reasonable deal, as long as the dealer you are working with is using Infiniti Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor to calculate your vehicle's lease payment.

Greetings miamifx35. The lease money factor that you were quoted to lease this car is right in line with Infiniti Financial Services' current buy rate for it. The residual value that you were quoted is correct as well. These are both good signs. It is difficult for me to give you my opinion on this vehicle's selling price without knowing what its dealer invoice price, or at least its full MSRP is. If you let me know I would be happy to tell you what I think. You can also get an idea of whether this is a good price for this model by visiting the following discussion: "Infiniti FX45 / FX35: Prices Paid & Buying Experience".

    2) Sports Package
    3) Technology Package
    4) Hands Free Package
    5) Splash Guards (free)

    My deal:

    $515/month for 12 months
$975 down payment (includes the 1st month payment)
Total due at sign delivery = $475

Please ask for Ray Sweet. Tell him Bruce referred you.

I was able to get a better deal at the Manhattan Infiniti dealer ($493/month) with a lady name Patricia. Again, please tell her that Bruce referred you.

    Good luck!

Is this 259 a month with 1000 down (12 month lease, 10k miles) a scam? I noticed someone else said something close but that was in St Louis. What am I missing? One other dealer said that was 1k below invoice!
  • bchyibchyi Member Posts: 5
I was able to get the same 12-month lease for $461/month in the Manhattan Dealership.

    Break down:
    1) Base monthly fee for fully loaded fx35: $303.16

    2) Bank fee: $795
    3) Destination: $650
    4) Tax: ~$400
    5) Doc Fee: $45
    6) Tire Recycling Fee: $12.50

    Total: (1902.50/12) + 303 = $461.70/month

Note: I think you can try to get it EVEN lower. Bank fee seems a bit high and it is different for each individual dealership.

Hello Carman ... been a long time !! Still have my '03 M45 which you helped me get that EXCELLENT deal on! The lease is coming up soon and I was going to be at the dealership this weekend and I already know about the great 12 month lease on the FX -- but, I was hoping you could give me the residuals and money factors on the FX35 AWD for SEPTEMBER ... Interested in the 24 and 36 month numbers for 12000 miles.

    Thanks in advance !!!
  • infamousxinfamousx Member Posts: 24
yea that seems just about right.. or atleast thats how much i ended up paying as an overall cost to leasing my fx35. i went to atlantic and the numbers looked something like

1569 down including inception and first month
    515*11 more months.

its bluetooth and keyless etxx loaded with tech package with 15k miles.

its funny though i cant seem to match some numbers. maybe i am off with some calculations. if someone can check for me it would be GREATLY appreciated.
    - MSRP = 46260
    - negotiated price = 42988
    - MF given = 0.530 ( or .000530 as i interpreted it )
    - residual 81% = 37470
    - tax paid = 517.30 ( 12 month i guess )
    - down payment of $1733 ( first month + inception+DMV REGISTRATION )
    - now i am confused as to how are they counting NET CAP COST because today manager told me it as 42988 ( after i got home it hit me that was suppose to be cap cost NOT NET CAP COST !! he never deducted down payment of 1500 from the cap cost ) hmmm..
so i did some calculations and i am still going off either by 50 bucks more or 150 short per month based on 515/month...

can someone figure this one out .. please... thanks a BUNCH... i am going tomorrow to pick this up so if someone posts answer i would definately appreciate it...

oh and i found out .. they dont have GAP insurance ! hmm... however he tried to sell me some protection plan for like 495 for the whole 12 month lease. i was very surprized. he said i didnt need it but if i had large down payment it would help in a bad scenario to recover my down payment back. i was under the impression leasing companies provide gap insurance. my insurance does not provide gap insurance ....he told me if something happens to my car my insurance company would pay for it ... verry verrry interesting ....

I am looking at a 2006 fx35 and I have what I think is a great lease deal right now in the works. I have been offered a tech/touring with 12k for 12 months with $2500 out of pocket and $389 a month inc. tax.
How does this look? If it looks good to you all I will get it tomorrow. I have never leased before and don't know much about it. Also what happens after the one year is up? Can you extend? Thanks
  • infamousxinfamousx Member Posts: 24
does the $2500 include the first month payment ?
im guessin at 389x11 months = 4279 + 2500 = $$ 6779 cost to drive the car for one year.. its not a bad deal... try to find out how much from the 2500 are they putting towards cap cost reduction. ask them to break it down to you what 2500 is for exactly... ( dont just go with the " inception fees " as they would tell you. )... also im guessin DMV registration is not included right ? also ask them if they will provide GAP insurance ? my dealer told me at the last day of contract they dont provide GAP insurance and tried to get me to buy $500 loss prevention program .. so get them to give you the numbers.. like the ones from above.

Getting a quote for a FX35 Sport, Tech, touring lease package.
    12K miles, 12 Months, $1500 down payment.

Here is 3 dealers prices. They all include NY tax. Option to lease 6 months after the first 12 months.

    $480 a month
    $440 a month
    $425 a month

I'm tired os shopping around, and want to go to one dealer in the NY area that will get the best deal this weekend.
Are these good prices? Anybody here paying less than this with $1500 down. I know the Manhatten Dealership has a promo for $303, 10k miles, but don't know after all fees and tax how much will it cost. Anybody here lease from them lately or gotten estimates?

My mother-in-law is looking to lease an FX35. Probably do 36 months. What kind of payment should she be looking at for a fully equipped Fx35 with 12k miles per year? In NorCali. Thanks for any help you all can offer.

I put ZERO down and my payments are 481 (which includes tax) on a 2006 fx35 AWD with touring, splash, cargo... no sport or tech. for 12 months 12K miles.

This is my first lease and I must say this is an overwhelming process. I’ve looked over this website many times and there are still some things I don’t understand. Like the significance of the money factor, the depreciation %, and why I need to negotiate down the price of the car if all I want to do is lease it, not buy it. ANYWAYS without knowing this info I still call up some dealers and this is what I think is the best deal….

    Infiniti FX35AWD
    The touring package
    Some rubber mats?
    12k miles/yr.
    12 month lease.

$1324 down which will cover EVERYTHING. I told him I did not want to pay any other “hidden” fees. He said that the $1324 will cover vehicle registration, title, first month’s payment, and acquisition fees? I drive out the dealer with my plates according to him.

$368+tax (Mass 5% = $387) for the next 11 months. Therefore for the entire year I will pay $5372 to use this car.

They also offer me a $2129 down, $299 a month deal. (I don’t have $2129 to put down and I don’t think this is a better deal?)

The only thing he said I might have to pay is a security deposit of $400 if I don’t have a credit rating of 700 or above. Its not a big deal but they only have 2 liquid platinum vehicles left at this price. I really wanted to get it in black.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? It seems this is the best deal here and I didn’t even negotiate that much. Is this too good to be true? I’m thinking of getting this vehicle over the weekend. I can really use the help. Thanx.

Please tell me what dealer. :confuse: I went to the one in Nashua NH today. best I could do was 6K to drive for 12 months and 12K miles. fx35awd handsfree and touring. no money down and 481 plus mass taxes ? I would do that in a heartbeat.

I essentially got this deal too with handsfree along with touring here in NJ.

so you got the same 481 deal in NJ with tax ? Please let me know where. I drove down to Caldwell NJ every week last year from NH. In fact my Jaguar is from Wayne NJ. For that deal, I will make the trip.

I got a lease offer for a Black Infinity FX35 with touring and tech package - i dint take the sports package coz the ride is a bit stiffer with the sports package ( i have a sports car already dont need another )

Out of pocket ( inclusive of first month payment taxes and fees )= $1550
    Monthly payment ( Before taxes ) = $289 for 11 months

Total cost of ownership for 12months/10,000miles
    = $1550 + $289x11months = $4729

This quote was over the phone, will be goin by the dealership soon, once I do the paperwork will post a message to let u know if this deal is too good to be true ;) or not
