I was wrong. My post above referred to a 60 month lease, but they are offering me the above deal for $539/mo for a 24 month. Where did you get the $479?
I found it. I think the difference is the one I was offered, from Scott Volvo in Allentown, PA includes all from Langhorne plus climate and metallic paint for $539/mo for 24 months, 10.5k per yr.
It seems like the Sign and Drive promotion is over. The new lease offer has a $2.9K drive off instead of $0. The monthy payment is cheaper, but last month's deal is better.
If you are coming off a Volvo lease are there any incentives to lease another Volvo besides not having to pay the disposition fees? I had heard there is a $2000 owners incentive.
Hi there - I have made the mistake of falling in love with an XC90. I have to see if I can sell off my lease Honda Odyssey first, but if I can pull it off, am ready to lease an XC90. I know the payment range I want, is it acceptable nowadays to simply negotiate to get that price, if possible? The one we want is MSRP of $43,000, and would like to pay not more than $450/month. We haven't begun discussing payments till we get our van evaluated. Also, any opinion as to whether going through the dealership is better than an independent leasing company? We did that last time, and got what we wanted, but we didn't get the leasing details and I think we overpaid, but I've heard that they have more banks at their option to finance? Thanks!
Well, the consumer advocates here will tell you that negotiating by payment is a bad idea. Although, in thsi case I don't think it is going to matter. Hitting 450/mo isn't going to be easy.
As for the independent leasing company, yes you did pay more than by going thru the dealer. The lease co had to buy the car from the dealer, who made money on the transaction, and then the lease co marked the car up to you. It is RARE that an independent leasing co or broker has more lenders than a dealer does.
Is your target of $450/month with $0 drive off? Last month I was offered $478/month for 24 months 0 drive off on a MSRP $42625 XC90. This month the quote goes up to $487/month. This is before tax too. $450/month seems very low unless it is after a down payment.
My target would be with just first month payment and a few fees perhaps, but I am seeing that is a big ambitious to get a payment as low as $450 on such an expensive car. I could possibly go to $480 or so. Does it seem the deals are better on the shorter leases? I don't mind doing a 48 month lease, I had a 54 on my van that I now realize I overpaid on ;o) Thanks for the information on the independent leasers - I didn't realize that.
As to negotiating, how does that work? should I go with the lease ad they have, and work up, b/c rather than negotiating price, I have heard there are incentives on leasing, and shouldn't you just take those?
I've probably been researching too much and am confused at the moment.
Well, today I was offered a lease of $635/month with $5,000 down on an 2008 XC 90 with the versatility and premier packages, MSRP of $43,000. I guess my hopes of getting one under $500 won't work! LOL.
$635/month with $5000 down on a lease?? Is it with 30k miles per year or something like that? For the 08 XC90 with versatility and premium packages, I was quoted $487+tax/month with $0 drive off, 24 months, 10.5k miles/year.
Nope. Found from my independent lease co. that I would be rolling about $2800 into the lease from my trade-in, so that kills me, and I'll just wait until the lease is up next July (and probably drool over every XC 90 I see). thought I had enough value to trade in. That is a good payment quote you received.
I am looking at a new 2007 XC90 Sport and it would be greatly appreciated if someone could let me know the current lease rates (money factor and residual). I would want the values for a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles a year. Thank you.
Just picked up 2008 XC90 3.2 AWD with premium, climate, versatility - 2 year lease program with 12,000/year - $499/mo before tax. Sales price was ~ $40,335. Edmund's dealer cost is coming in at $41,908.
I ended up going with Kundert. First stop was Ramsey and was ready to pull the trigger (salesman was excellent and followed up frequently) but I ended up calling Kundert and told salesman over the phone simply that I was an X plan member and I wanted the best possible price - he supposedly came in below the x-plan price. I'm signing papers and picking it up tomorrow...we'll see if anything changes.
I asked a more generic version of this question in the Smart Shopper forum, but since we are looking at XC90's I thought I'd ask it more specifically here.
We are looking to purchase/lease/whatever an XC90 as a replacement for our aging minivan. This will be our 4th Volvo (an old DL, 740gl and my current '99 S70). Both the 740 and my S70 were off lease cars purchased from the same dealer where we plan to look for our used XC90.
I'm leaning towards the lease since I'm not sure we want to keep this as long as we have our previous cars and want to keep monthly payments as low as possible.
Does Volvo (or any 3rd party) do this? If so, what are the rates? I'm thinking of a 2 yr lease with 12K to 15K miles per year (we've been avg just under 13 on the minivan we have).
Frankly, you are better off leasing a new one. The 24 mo VFNA lease on the 2008's can't be beat right now. Rates and residuals on used car leases are MUCH worse than new car programs.
can you tell me more about the X-plan? I understand it is some kind of program with Volvo based on the company you work with. Did he ask to verify the details of your eligibility on this plan?
I started doing some more digging and found a website that gave online quotes. YIKES was all I had to say! I'm just exploring all avenues, so that was one to look at. Plus, having a wife whose an engineer, I want to make sure that I'm able to answer any question she may have.
That being said, do you have the current rates in NJ for 2 & 3 yr leases? more than likely we'll pick the 15k mileage as, you never know. I have X-plan pin already generated, but didn't think I'd be able to afford one.
I've been following the other thread on NJ dealers as well. How do you guys like Montclair Volvo? That is where we've gotten our previous ones.
Finally, (off topic of leases), I've seen that Volvo is also offering 0.9% financing on CPO XC90's, do you know what, if any, the rates are for longer terms?
Yes - you need to provide a pin number to technically complete the sale. My company did some work with Fordso they extended the X Plan to all employees (large global investment bank).
I can't comment on the terms of a 3 year lease but I believe the dealership told me that 2 years was the best option.
I ended up putting nothing down (595 acq fee, 162 nj state tax - new corzine thing, rolled all taxes into monthly payment, 0 doc fee (waived for x plan, initial monthly payment, and tire fee).
I forget what X plan math works out to be but I want to say 1% above dealer invoice - not sure tho....if you know you want the vehicle, I suggest calling up a dealership, see if they have your specs (hopefully you can deal with their colors) and tell them you'll take what they have if they give you the best price possible....
Hello, If anyone has an X Plan PIN that they will not be using and would give it to me, I would very much appreciate it!! I want to use it for the XC90 3.2 AWD. Pls email me and I will send you the required info. Would like to lease this vehicle immediately. Thanks!! chinleft@yahoo.com
These are some things I see varying from manufacturer to manufacturer (or lessor to lessor): Disposition fee: Apparently this is a ridiculous fee for returning a leased vehicle at the end of a lease (which obviously like 98+% of leasees will do). Damage Waiver: An allowance of damage up to a certain amount when returning a vehicle. Some makes even sell an insurance policy to cover you for this.
Thanks for the info. I had never heard of the disposition fee until the Acura guy told me that they don't charge this fee when I was considering the MDX.
In reply to: "Apparantly 5 seaters don't sell as well, and Volvo provides a bit more incentive." ----- Interesting... a dealer in North Jersey (Ramsey Volvo) said the opposite. They explaned that a 7 passenger vehicle is more valuable than a 5 passenger - both when the car is new and when it's returned off-lease. Therefore, the lease factors are worse if you go with the 5 passenger. The MSRP difference between the 7 and the 5 is $2,250 (versatility pkg) but he said that a payment would only go down a few dollars per month with the 5 passenger because of the difference in the factors. Sounds logical but I dunno what the truth is... after all, does the lease factor change if I have BLIS or not? I'm not sure, but I don't think so.
Nissan/Infiniti don't have a lease disposition fee. I think this was the worst part about the Volvo lease.
Then again, Volvo provides $1000 in damage protection whereas Nissan/Infiniti will only provide a $500 credit if you lease another Nissan/Infiniti product.
Yep, but I found Acura to be the best in this regard... No disp fee and a $1,500 damage allowance. Then again, their lease factors were not as favorable as Volvo's and this made the MDX out of reach for me.
Anyone have any info on Sept 07 money factor and residual value % for 2008 XC90 V-8 ? Looking for a 36 mos lease with 12k per year. NYC metro area, but any insights appreciated. Thanks.
Hi raymondy. Volvo Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 XC90 3.2 FWD 5 seat with 10,500 miles per year are an amazingly low .00001 and respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of an '08 XC90 3.2 FWD 7 seat are .00014 and 64%. The numbers for the '08 XC90 3.2 AWD 5 seat are .00064 and 66%. When negotiating your lease on any of these vehicles, make sure to take the $2,000 lease cash that Volvo is currently providing on them into account.

I am being quoted 521 a month for a 3 yr lease, 12K miles, 0 down. I can buy the car at the end of the 3 yrs for ~18K.

MF depends on the model.
CPO rates go up to 4.9% for 60 mos,Tier 0.

DOES THE XC90 LEASE HAVE EITHER OR BOTH OF THESE?
Thanks!
VFNA offers wear ins as part of the lease.
Every bank that I am aware of has a dispostion fee.
