My 07 4wd LTZ is getting 12.5 MPG Which sucks ___________________________________________________________ Your LTZ has full-time 4 wheel drive and as I recall you have the bigger 6.0 V-8 and the 3.73 rear axle. With the 20" rims and wide tires your mpg will be much less than the LS and LT models with the 5.3 V-8. My 2006 has the 5.3 engine, 3.42 rear axle and 16" wheels. At 65 mph I am getting 22mpg. At 60 mph I get 23mpg. City driving is around 18 mpg. This is in 2 wheel drive, AC not on, and no stop lite drag racing.
Are the stock head units double din? I have an Eclipse double din NAV unit in my current vehicle, will this unit fit in the 2007 Tahoe? If so, does anyone make a double din mounting kit? Are there any adaptors for the CAN bus for Onstar/Steering wheel controls/door chimes?
I should be getting my Tahoe in the next few weeks, just want to be prepared for the swap, if it's possible...
LTZ can be had in 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. It is not full time all wheel drive, that is Denali and Escalade only. The motor is not a 6.0 motor unless it is a 3/4 ton Suburban, Tahoe and 1/2 Ton Suburban get 5.3L. Full time 4 wheel drive is only on Denali and Escalade with a 6.2L motor.
Obviously, you are looking at a totally different vehicle. If size and MPG are causing apprehension, you should look into a smaller SUV. I have the GMC 07 Yukon SLT-2 which is the same vehicle as the Tahoe LT3 with a few more options. I love the ride, room and towing capacity.
I have approximately 3800 miles of mixed driving (including towing boats, snowmobiles and utility trailer) and I am averaging 16.1 MPG year to date. I have validated accuracy of MPG by using a calculator at fill ups.
As we all know, Honda has a outstanding reputation for reliability etc. I was a toyota SUV and truck owner for the last 14 years, so it was hard for me to leep from the security of reliability and minimal depreciation of toyota to GM, but I am totally pleased to date with my Yukon. I am also very pleased with fit and finish. Zero issues to date
I am willing to be a ginnea pig for this first year model makeover for reliability and depreciation and I do not think I will be dissappointed. Good luck in your search.
I have the same problem with the clock. I noticed that the clock would disappear sometimes when I had an MP3 CD in the player.
Apparently, the player is using more memory evaluating the 100+ songs on the CD, so the clock doesn't load when you startup.
I have no idea why it can't load the clock, but once I remove the CD, get out of the vehicle and let the player re-set. Once I startup the next time, the clock re-appears and stays on as long as I keep the MP3 CD out of the player.
It doesn't disappear all the time. But I have learned to expect it when playing an MP3 CD.
Let me know if this solves the problem for you too. GM will hopefully get a software fix for it later if it happens to alot of people.
Full time 4 wheel drive is only on Denali and Escalade with a 6.2L motor ___________________________________________________________ Oops, sorry 'bout that. I was looking at the Suburban specs and not the Tahoe. You are correct about the engine and drive train. However, full time all-wheel drive is standard on the Suburban LTZ, likewise the 6000 engine.
What chevy needs to do is put the 6.0 mated to the 6spd transmission, on the LTZ Subby. I ended up buying the '07 Escalade because I needed that combination for towing. I didn't want to wait for the Denali, and I'm not crazy about the looks of it.
Unfortunatly, I did not realize the stigma that comes with having an Escalade until after I started driving it. Don't get me wrong, its a great ride, but ....
Alright all there is a solution to finding a cheap, chrome rear bowtie. Take a small screwdriver and carefully pry the gold lid from the shell of the factory rear emblem. Underneath it is a chrome, outlined bowtie that looks great. I say be careful when you pry the lid off because the screwdriver may ding the chrome underneath it and show the scuffs. Email me for pics.
I just recently purchased a new '07 Denali. It is far superior for towing then my previous Yukon. I pull a 4500 lb boat/trailer with ease now... Great tow vehicle.
OK, let's try this one more time. The engine and drive specs I mentioned were from the 2006 Chev Suburban promo book. Sorry 'bout that. Seems they have made some big changes in the specs for 2007.
I love my Tahoe LT3. Getting just over 17 MPG in mixed driving. My only complaint is storage. I know about the little compartment in back on the left side and the jack is hidden away under the cup holders in the back, but what about the right side. Has anyone taken off that flat piece where it looks like a cup holder should go and see if there is room for storage?
22 mpg highway sounds pretty good for one of these beasties. if the gasser gets 22 mpg with cylinder-shutdown i wonder how much better a duramax with cylinder-shutdown would do? those are 6 cylinder engines though aren't they? running on 3/6 or 4/6 cylinders might not be so smooth
17?? That's really good. How long have you had it??? Did you start out with bad mileage and start getting better mileage over time?? Mine's new '07 and only avg 14.6 MPG. Chevy tells me the milage will get better at about 8-9000 miles. Did you ad any mods such as exauhst and cold air intake??
That's the thing. I've never had a problem getting close to epa or a good avg between with mixed city/hwy driving until this vehicle. They tell me I will start seeing a difference at about 8-9k miles. Who knows. Kinda frustrated at this point. I do baby it when I drive. My girlfriends is telling me I drive like a grandpa. Doesn't help with the frustration.
yeah. you can't go buy that. That's a result of milage it's gettting whe people are test driving. Also, there aren't enough miles on the truck at that point for it to be accurate. Then, on top of that, you have the sales team telling you it will get better.
Have you heard back from the "company rep" regarding the bypass? Also. does anyone have the contact info for this person at GM (or someone else) that can give me status?
No mods at all. I have 1500 miles on it. Had it for about 6 weeks. I put 250 miles on it on one trip that was a little over half highway and half back roads ant I got 18.4. I'm getting constant low 17's. I drive between 60 and 70, no quick starts. My RPM's hardly ever go above 2000. I would like to get 18 or so in mixed driving.
Just picked up my 07 LTZ yesterday, I bought it out of state and had a 100+ mile trip back home on 55 MPH state highways. I put another 115 miles on today mixed interstate and city driving. Happy to report 17.4, not bad for the first tank. I will report back after the I hit 1k. What’s everyone doing for Cat back exhaust mods? I am looking for a relatively quite free flowing system to help boost MPG. Sound is secondary. And last of all, has anyone installed a set of leveling spacers above the front springs, looking for feedback. Thanks George
Ok guys I got the latest about the 2007 Tahoe Onstar Interface.
All this information was provided to me via email and by phone!
First I did a research about the whole thing ABOUT adding a whole aftermarket sound system.
First like 3 weeks ago alot of people told me that the Interface it's still under development. And about a week later I found this information about it!
And if you looked you saw that it says that is under Development right? But dated 4-19-2006
So I sent an email this guy at Metra Elec. And here is what he sed.
" If you are bypassing the Bose system, then yes, we have a harness for > you, GMOS-LAN-01. You will need a SP-2003 speaker as well, and you > will have to slightly modify the GMOS-LAN-01. Please call Tech support "
He also sed that Lan bus thing it's on some 2006 Chevy models so they add it to the 2007! So this means that the interface for those 2006 model with Lan Network will fit the Tahoe 2007!?! SO we can have the Onstar working !?!..
Finally he sent me another Email....
" Yes, if they can get the harness, and they have the knowledge to bypass the amp and modfy our piece.
The interface has been out for about a month now, but I would assume because of the high demand for it, and the fact that pre-orders have to be filled first, it will some time before you may get one. The parts explained below, 99-3305 or 95-3305 for the kit and 40-CR10 for the antenna adapter is all the parts needed. 99-3305 is for single DIN installs whereas 95-3305 is for double.
SO here you have it guys!!!
It took me a few weeks to get all this fresh info and of course I am posting it here for you.
Now I will be at this guys's shop tommorrow where they normally install all my sound systems and let them know about the information I got for the 07 Tahoe and they might be able to install my Eclipse sound system withing weeks.
If you have something that I do not know OR if I am wrong in something please let me know, becuase we are all here to help each other and make it right by gathering the right infrormation.
I just bought a Tahoe LTZ last week. I have read the owner's manual over and over and I can't seem to solve a problem. The issue I am having is regarding the driver's sear position recall. I have my preferences set to memory position 1. When I stop the car the seat moves back to the Easy Exit feature. When I leave the car and lock it and then unlock it when I get back in, the car moves from the Easy Exit position to a different position ( I believe it is the memory 2 position). So each time I get back in the car I have to press the 1 memory button. I have the auto seat recall feature turned on. Anyone have any suggestions?
For some unknown reason, GM no longer puts a number on the back of each key fob that tells you what position it goes with. I had the same problem and discovered that I was using the fob keyed to memory #2. Switched fobs and everything works as advertised. What I don't understand is why the seat moves forward as soon as you unlock instead of when you put the key in. Haven't found a way to change that.
Try your other remote. My '07 Denali has the option of linking the different remotes to the two different settings. You have to turn this feature on, but maybe this will work. SJ
Hey guys, I've been looking for the luggage rack cross bars to fit my 2007 tahoe, but have had no luck. I remember seeing it once on the auction site, and so i'll probably try checking back with that, but could anyone direct me to a site that sells them? Thanks in advance.
Rockin how did you wire the low beams to stay on while the high beams were on? which wires did you splice into and did you use a relay? I had a friend do it on my old Tahoe but I would like to do it on my new one.
Are you looking for something other than what the dealer offers? Parts department at me dealership has them (or can get them). Bummer is, the cross bars were about a $45 dollar option. Parts wants over $200 for a pair them now.
Just purchased GMPP Touring sys. on e-bay should arrive early next week. I'll let you know how it sounds and performs. Also just filled up 13MPG mostly around town. Hope this improves.
yeah same problem here, my dealer asked for $200 for the pair. It does not have to be the oem cross rails, a different style would be fine as long as it fits, I just don't want to throw in $200 for cross rails. Open to any suggestions/choices of luggage cross rails for the 07 tahoe.
Hey Collins...I didn't splice into any other wires. I just unplugged the old halogen bulbs and plugged the ballast into this harness. I know that's not exactly how it's supposed to be done...But the lights work perfectly!! They come on with the autolamp feature, when you unlock the vehicle at night, etc.
By doing it this way, it disables the high/low beam feature that would turn off the low beams when you switch to high. Because of this...Now when I turn on my high beams, both the HID's and the high beams are on at the same time!!! Talk about lighting up the road!! :shades:
Hope this helps...What K temp did you get? I got the 6000K and now kind of wish I might have got the 5 or 4500K. Not really a problem, but the 6000K is a little more bluer than I thought they would be. Nonetheless...They work and look GREAT!!
I signed a purchase agreement for a 2007 Tahoe LTZ last week that was a "Locate" vehicle. It's coming from another dealership but has not arrived as yet (said to be in transit). The dealer that I am purchasing the Tahoe from can't say when the vehicle will be delivered to the other dealership. My question is this... If the VIN number is available is there a way to track where the vehicle is at anytime? Dealer said that when it leaves the factory it like goes into a "black hole" until it arrives at the designated dealer that ordered the vehicle. Does this sound right???? :confuse:
Based on my experience, it takes about one week from the time it leaves the factory to reach the ordering dealer. Have they been notified of a build date? It's about a week to build. Did they tack on an additional fee to transport to your dealer?
Where did you find a little compartment on the left side besides the jack storage? I looked on mine and while there is a depression outline, it's not cut out and when I looked down behind the wheel well from the jack storage, there doesn't seem to be much unused space down there. My TrailBlazer had all sorts of storage cubbies back there including one under the load floor. Envy your MPG.
I just took delivery of a 07 Denali with Nav but no rear camera. Does anyone know if the wiring harness is in the liftgate and I can simply buy an aftermarket camera or a GM part when in becomes available and install????
I took a drive to the dealer that originally ordered this vehicle. After looking around the lot I found my Tahoe off to one side. Just a little dusty from the trip from Texas to Connecticut. Should be picking up Tahoe this week.
Original dealer is only 10 miles from the dealer that I will be purchasing vehicle from. My dealer will be swapping another vehicle to get this one for me. There is no additional delivery fee charged.
If you open the liftgate on the left side you'll see 2 plastic screws that match your interior color. Turn them in 1 direction and it opens a little cmpartment. I was going to try the right side wheel well and see what I can find. Need more storage.
Just finished washing my 2007 LTZ - less than 400 miles 4 days old - rear compartment is full of water. Seams to be leaking from from the "D" piller, posibaly from the rear side window, Headliner is soaked, piller cover is wet, speaker and rear park assist indicator soaked. I will be returning to the dealer in the AM. Not happy. Anyone else had this problem?

The 3/4 ton version has the 6.0, and has trim models of LT1,2 and 3. The 3/4 ton version also uses leaf springs (LT1,2 and 3).
However, the 4WD is optional across the entire Suburban line.
These specs are available at www.Chevrolet.com.
" ENGINE, VORTEC 6.0L V8 SFI with Active Fuel Management (366 hp [272.9 kW] @ 5500 rpm, 380 lb-ft of torque [513.0 N-m] @ 4300 rpm, aluminum block (Requires (M70) 4-speed automatic transmission, (GT5) 4.10 rear axle ratio and (Z55) Autoride Suspension Package.)(Requires 3LT Preferred Equipment Group) Code: L76"
This is not on the Chevy site yet, and there was no cost associated with it yet.
Another tidbit I just saw
as another note on the LTZ you can do the assist steps too
ASSIST STEPS, POWER-RETRACTABLE Code: BRS
invoice MSRP
$825.85 $995.00
Unfortunatly, I did not realize the stigma that comes with having an Escalade until after I started driving it. Don't get me wrong, its a great ride, but ....
