Or maybe they arced the hookup and zapped the BCM and it will need to be reflashed by the service dept.

Hey, I am having the same problem with my 07 Yukon. Did you ever figure out what the problem was. Stabilitrak, ABS, and Service Traction Control lights are on. And it is a little hard to shift from park since these lights started coming on. Thanks!

Have you checked the wheel sensors, which detect how much each wheel is rotating?

or taken it to the dealership to have the error codes read?

I have an 07 Chev Tahoe LT with 30,000 miles. I am hearing from a few people that these vehicles start to burn oil (3 quarts to 3000 miles) when they hit 30,000 miles and that there are electrical issues that cause the vehicle to shut down at times. Anybody know anything about this? I may look at trading up to an '09 if possible.

I have an '07, and haven't heard of those issues.....but I assure you, if I did, my course of action would NOT be to trade up to an '09.

I'd be dumping it for a different, more reliable vehicle.

I have 65,000 miles on my '07 Tahoe don't have any oil problems whatsoever, and I follow my oil life indicator running my drains out to about 9,000. I'm usually down about a quart by then, well within the norm.

Electrical issues...well yes, I've had a few. The big one is the battery rundown issue. I had this fixed about 6 months after taking delivery after 2 dead battery events. I think the bulletin number is 07033, and it involves a reflash of the Body Control Module. About a year ago, I started to experience wierd electric events. My wipers would start to wipe and the washers would run until the tank was drained. Pressing the heated washer button would sometimes cause the cruise control to set. My dealer couldn't find anything wrong, but reflashed the BCM again, and problems went away and haven't returned.

I coming close to 60K on my Tahoe and I don't have any oil problems. Still amost 10K between oil changes. One time I had low oil, but that was right before I had to change the oil anyways.

I'm actually having another problem. My DVD system seems to be over heating. About half way through some movies the DVD will start freezing and skipping. If I touch the unit it is hot to the touch. At other times, if the unit is cool it wont have any problems playing through movies even ones that skip when the system is warm.

Tried to search for a solution but no luck. I can't get handle for 2nd row fold down seats to release to a fold down position on either side. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Did it work before? Are they power fold seats?

:confuse: The info screen that shows your radio stations etc will be really dark where you can hardly see anything. Then after a while it will be bright again then dark again. Any one have this problem?

    Snorris,

I bet your headlights are turning on and off. Is this happening around dusk, dawn, near shadows or tunnels?

I know in my tahoe the lights will come on while it is still pretty bright out.

I suggest turning the console brightness all the way up with the lights on. This might help.

Does not matter what the lighting conditions are. Just another problem in a loooong list. Has to be one of the most poorly thought out suv's I have ever owned.

Try setting the radio lighting to fixed instead of auto Day/Nite.

Hate to sound dumb but how do you do that? :confuse:
  • 73shark73shark Member Posts: 325
Go into the menu on the radio and look around in there. It may be just on the Nav radios tho.

:confuse: Wanting to install a block heater and need info on location etc. Was told there is a plug (not a freeze plug) you take out that is threaded and you screw in the element? Any info appreciated.

I own a 2007 G M C Yukon my engine light is on most of the time, some times when I go to started it hesitates like if my feel pump was bad however it stars then the engine light goes off then all the sudden the light will be on again,do I have sensor problem or feel pump can you comment? I also have a 2005 Toyota matrix x r s on this car the battery light turn on ,I removed the battery and the alternator took them to auto zone for check the batt.was bad the alt. was good so I replace the batt. and the car work good for 2 plus weeks then the batt. light came on again after a while my batt.goes dead ,can anyone comment on these problems.thanks

Did you have them scan for DTCs?

BTW you don't have to remove your alternator or battery to have them checked. They can check in the vehicle along w/ the starter.

Is your belt tight? Sometimes the idler spring gets weak and allows the belt to slip on the alternator pulley when it's under heavy load and therefore won't charge the battery.
