Chevy Equinox LT Transmission Problems

I bought my 2011 Chevy Equinox in March 2013 used. What appealed to me about this car was the low mileage. Since purchasing, this car has had problems whether it be dealer problem or car problems. I think it was in the dealership shop 2 times a year. Cam Shaft and I had to replace all the pistons. GM stopped sending out requests for my feedback, as I consistently rated them VERY low. I have now had two different folks come back to me to tell me that my transmission is about to go (one of them BEFORE my warranty ran out, brought in to dealership, and they told me it was my pistons). Now, of course, I have NO warranty and a car that's transmission is about to go. I still have 2.5 years of payments, and can't get a new car because no one will take!!! The dealership OBVIOUSLY sold me a lemon here. I'm going to look in to see what options I have now!

Just paid several thousand dollars for a new transmission on my 2010 Equinox. NOT EVEN 10 YEARS OLD and it has had a new engine and now a new transmission. No warranty or recall. Have discovered 2 other people I know who just junked theirs when this happened. Can't afford to do that. I will never buy a Chevy again!!!

I bought my 2010 Chevy Equinox new off of the lot. Paid 33,000 cash. Within 10,000 miles it blew the timing. At approx. 50,000 miles the whole air conditioning system was shot. At 110,000 miles it blew the timing again and was burning oil. They fixed the timing again. They also found drive train and tranny seals leaking. They repaired that. So far all under warranty Within a wk reverse and 3rd blew in the tranny. While in for tranny rebuild they discovered it was 2 qts low on oil after having an oil change 2 wks prior. They then put in new pistons and rings. Still under warranty so far. . I'm only 9,000 miles from the extended warranty being up. So scared for the future with this vehicle. I'm now looking away from Chevy products.

My 2010 Equinox has experienced similar issues. I've had to pay out of pocket for excessive oil consumption repair & now I need to replace the Camshaft Sensor & the transmission is going out. Dealership quoted a new transmission for $4560 with a THREE YEAR WARRANTY! I'm done with Chevy & checking into a class action lawsuit!
