I deal with them quite a bit. I've also spent my fair share of time in court as an expert witness, plaintiff and defendant. I've also served on many juries and once or twice as a jury foreman.
That said, I believe with the 'call to action' you're stirring up with the web-site, use of Dodge logo and 'attack' on Diamler (assume you mean Daimler), you will absolutely, positively - and especially with the planned 'tour' - get your day in court...
Good news for Ernie @ D/C; Bad news for us Quadders. Ernie has received a well deserved promotion, and will move up to the training division. Although the job description is not yet in granite, it involves training and familiarization for internal and external personnel. Ernie has helped so many of us on numerous occasions, so I know that you would like to join me in wishing Ernie much deserved success in his new position.
I have the 2000 4.7 with auto and have had other dakotas previously. As far as taking off in the morning when the engine is cold, all of my dakotas with auto did not want to shift until the transmission oil warmed up. This has nothing to do with the new multi-speed transmission. My multi-speed transmission shifts fine once warmed up, but I do find a hesitation when I floor it, something akin to turbo lag. I attribute this hesitation to the computer getting the word to the fuel injection system, but then again the transmission could be slipping some. I find I have better success pressing the gas pedal about half way down when I want to accelerate quickly rather than flooring it. Otherwise, I get the Flintstone effect. Remember when Fred and Barney were in their car pedaling madly and all of a sudden it takes hold and they take off. That's the effect I have when I floor it. However, having said that, I think so far the multi-speed transmission is the best Dakota auto I have had.
well i have good news. after i hit 10,000 miles on my new dakota quad my mpg went from 15mpg at 70 on the highway to 17mpg at same speed. i havent posted in awhile getting ready to move to virginia and we are finally going up there this weekend to house hunt, but i will post when i can.
4.7, auto, 4x2, 3.92 and loaded with a rollnlock tonneau cover and fenderflares.
New Quad was ordered in December; arrived in January. V6, auto, 4X4, with towing package. Runs and rides quiet, alot better than my old S-10. Shifts easily in 4-wheel drive. The only question I have pertains to how it shifts into overdrive on hills. Traveling on flat land in cruise-control it does 55mph at around 2000 rpm. As soon as it hits a long upgrade it jumps to around 4000 rpm and sounds like the engine is coming out from under the hood! Is this normal? I have been reading about all these transmission problems Dodge's have had and I have to wonder.
If you post your question in one of the more active Dakota forums (1848 or 1871), you're likely to get a better response. I can't help you since I don't have my Quad Cab yet.
Has anyone learned anything about towing a 5th wheel RV with a Quad-cab. Mine has the 5.9L engine with the 3.9 rear end, towing pkg et.al Thanks for any help. NB146
Equipped as your truck is, towing the fifth-wheel rig should be something to give it a rest between pulling stumps... I certainly wouldn't worry about its capacity unless you're pulling something over 8,000 lbs.
