Dodge Dakota Cruise Control Problem

I have a 2000 dodge Dakota slt quad cab 4.7L 2wd and I went down a muddy rode and the cruise control used to work but now it don’t the light comes on but won’t set.

    These truck are notorious for leaking/cracked plastic vacuum lines that operate the cruise control, so check these lines first. You'll probably see them on the left side inner front fender area, going to the cruise module. Just insert a new piece of tubing if/when you see a crack--any kind of vacuum tubing will work.

    I looked and have no cracks or leaks.
