04 trailblazer ls ext 5.3

Intermittently my ignition switch started working so me the mechanic I am has the cover off the colum when it wouldn't crank to probe the wires it would start than was gonna leave no start so got the test light out and short the pink wire on the red and white wire on the harness buzz Lil smoke well had already ordered a ignition switch so well obviously no crank no start no blown fuses maybe relays or pcm?any ideas be appreciated nothing stupid cause I already no what I did was stupid

    I think you're starting from the wrong end here. You should be probing at the starter solenoid end--of course, having a wiring diagram would be a very good idea as well.
