Is it worth to buy a 2006 Toyota Camry LE Sedan 4D with 180K miles?
hello every one.. please post your comments for a used 2006 Toyota Camry LE Sedan 4D car. How long one can expect life of this car? It has crossed over 170K miles already. Does Camry have it's price higher or lower than the KBB prices?

Imho even a Toyota Camry is probably nearing the end of its useful life at 170k, unless it's been garaged and meticulously maintained for its whole life up until now. Major repairs would likely be needed in the next few years....My suggestion would be to move along to something with lower miles. I think a Fusion, Sonata, Altima, etc. with c. 100k miles, which might be around the same price as the Toyota, is likely to give you more years of service.2018 Acura TLX 2.4 Tech 4WS (mine), 2024 Subaru Outback (wife's), 2018 Honda CR-V EX (offspring)5 -

Benjamin pretty much sums it up.
But, if it’s cheap (and I mean real cheap....like a few hundred dollars), might be worth it as strictly a grocery getter.
Check to see if it “smokes” from the tail pipe. Check to see if there are leaks around the cooling system, the valve cover gaskets, oil pan, radiator. Feel the hoses to see if there are any signs of cracking or dry rotting. Check the belt for wear.
Transmission shifts quickly and smoothly? Check the trans fluid. Check the antifreeze in the radiator.
Panels and doors line up? Gaps are even and close? Rust? Repaint? (Check door jams, under hood for overspray). Look under the cover in the trunk, any rust?
That said, those checks are good for any used car purchase.2024 Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD Long Range5

Where I live in CA, used cars tend to be more expensive, and I see 2006 Camrys with this mileage in the $2500 to $4000 range, depending on condition, service history, etc.
While I think that logically you can say that a car with 180K on it is practically worthless, in the "real world" just about any decent-looking and reliable used car is going to cost you $3000 these days.
