auto/2004 pt cruiser limited- no play xmission shifter cable.

I believe the xmission shifer cable snapped or bushings slipped. Their is no play, whatsoever in shifting. What to do?

    You can first check under the hood to see if the cable has broken on that end, or if the bushings that connect the cable to the transmission lever has disintegrated.

    If everything look intact under the hood then you're going to have to take off the center console and see what's what under there---again, you might have a broken cable, a bushing that fell apart, or the shifting mechanism itself might have broken if you forced it when it felt stuck.
