Has anyone had any melting issues with lenses by upgrading to the 9005 bulb over the stock 9145 bulb? I considering doing this but I don't want to melt my lenses. Thanks

From what I've seen online, a lot of people do this, although I've also seen (in more than one place) that the bulbs are not identical and need to be modified to fit. That might also explain why I see reference to the 9005's seeming to burn out more often than the 9145's. No idea whether they will or won't melt lenses. You didn't say what vehicle you're thinking about doing this on, so it's difficult to even make a guess.

I wouldn't do it. Neither your connector nor the wiring was designed to sink off that much heat.
