I have a 2004 GMC z71 extended cab 4door short bed no frills, it has about 62500 for miles. Last year the truck started to have issues with the light switch then the 4wd switch ok I changed them myself. Then the driver side door lock switch had that replaced, expensive. Now this year the horn started to honk in the middle of the night, so I hit the unlock button and it would stop. So I started to lock the truck manually worked for awhile now it honks if it is locked, so I leave it unlocked, I bought this truck new. No on star. I was just going to unload this truck but every manufacture is having issues.

    Some owners have attributed this problem to a bad hood latch, which has a sensor for the alarm system. Having the car scanned professionally may be your only option for getting to the root of this problem, but the hood latch is a common suspect.

    @Mr_Shiftright
    I looked at the hood latch no sensor and no electrical wires of any kind to the latch or even around the latch
