Back window air flow noise
It was a summer night driving along in my 2010 Chevy Equinox. I didn't want the breeze on my face so I lowered a back window about 4 inches. The sound will blow your ear drums off. I thought my tire fell off. Like a helicopter landing on the roof. It actually sounds like the top of the SUV will rip off. Even if both back windows lowered 4 inches you still have the sound. Any one else have this issue?

Crack the front passenger window, or the sunroof, as well.. to facilitate smoother airflow.

It's Helmholtz resonance:

It's similar to blowing across the top of an open pop bottle and generating a tone. This occurs at a much lower frequency.
