Tax Credit for Leases
I had leased a 2016 LEAF a couple years ago, and Nissan had included the entire $7,500 Federal tax credit as a rebate, reducing the capitalized cost significantly.
I am now looking at leasing a new 2018 Leaf SV, as our 2016 was recently totaled.
It seems that Nissan, in the published lease deal, is only offering $3,150 of the $7,500 as a rebate on a 2018 SV.
Has anyone had any luck negotiating this, getting the full $7,500 or at least a bigger portion of it? I do realize that the 2018 is very new, and likely in higher demand at the moment. I'm sure that they will eventually have to pass on more of the credit to drive sales -- unfortunately, I need to replace my wife's car sooner than later.
Thanks for your help!
