Oil change 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

I've learned that my 2018 Crosstrek come with a synthetic 0w-20 motor oil and the hand book says to replace, under normal driving conditions every 6,000 miles. I've got two other cars that use synthetic and the manufacturer on those cars recommends 10,000 miles between changes. A synthetic change is pretty expensive, but the trade off is you only need to change oil half the time of conventional motor oil. But Subaru is using synthetic oil and recommending it be replaced as if it were the cheap stuff.

Does anyone have an opinion if synthetic oil really needs to be changed at 6,000 miles on my Crosstrek?

I would go with the factory recommendation, just for warranty purposes.

Why speed all that money on a new car and then try to cheap it out?

just seems strange that my Toyota Highlander says every 10,000 miles for a synthetic oil change and Subaru is every 6,000. Why is that I wonder? I'm not being cheap, I'm asking a question.
