How much has my car fallen in value after an accident? Should I buy it off lease

HI - my 3 series BMW wagon sustained 8k in body damage from a T-Bone, but apparently no frame damage and the alignment is solid.
How much will this impact resale? I was thinking of buying it at the end of the lease in July as it has just 15k miles, and I like the car and could keep it for another 3-5 years. However $37K after tax is a bit steep. Would the accident have less of an impact as the car ages ?
Thanks

If you drive it until it's 8 years old, then the hit might only be $1000-$1500, because it will be worth less than $10K, anyway.edmundshoya said:HI - my 3 series BMW wagon sustained 8k in body damage from a T-Bone, but apparently no frame damage and the alignment is solid.

But, you don't know how the repair or paint will age... I surely wouldn't pay full price for an accident-damaged car. Pretend it isn't your lease. Would you buy it in the used car market for that price?Edmunds Price Checker
