Audi Q7 Residual and MF 2.0 MSRP 64,400 and Presitge MSRP 70,000 with 10,000 miles and 36/39 months?

Pipo6007Pipo6007 Member Posts: 15
Looking at a 2018 Audi Q7 with an MSRP of $64,400. Lease terms are 39 months with $1,000 out of pocket, 10,000 miles a year with payments of $785 per month. The 6% sales tax are included. They are reducing the MSRP by $7,923.36 making the purchase price $56,476.64. I never asked the MF but I am assuming they are making money up in that category. Can you tell me what the current rates are for the 2.0 premium plus and also the Prestige? They told me the residual is worse with the Prestige model and I always thought it would be better.

Thank you.

The 2.0 model doesn't offer a Prestige trim

I am interested in both models but leaning towards the 2.0 Premium Plus. I should have specified.
My quote above was for the 2.0 Premium plus with a sticker of $64,400.
Let me know if you have that info or if seems like a good deal.

    Thank you.

They are saying $1,000 total out of pocket so I am assuming its total due at signing.
Does Audi care increase the residual? And for 36 months is the residual any different?

They are covering the first payment with the Audi incentive.

    57% residual for 36/10
Yes, purchasing AudiCare adds 1% to the residual

Doesn't look like they are marking up anything. Looks like about $1100 added to your sale price number, to get to that payment. Since the acquisition fee is $895, that looks pretty good.

Even though AudiCare is a good deal, it's still a price increase, overall. Your payment is going up, if you get it.

I understand. I was at $799 tax in and then they added Audicare and told me my payment was $825 tax in. But they reduced my negotiated price down by $588.81. Netting a $300 or so increase in purchase price with Audi care. So that didn't make sense to me since the residual goes up by 1%.

Also they want 39 months but I want 36 months. So should I expect my payment to go up for that as well? OR is the $785 a month tax in without Audicare should be a 36 month deal?

Just so I don't confuse you they verbally told me they can do $785 tax in for 39 months and 10K a year.
I'm looking for 36/10K instead and preferably with Audicare for $760-$785 a month tax in.

36/10 would raise the payment by about $16/mo, all else being equal.

Seems a backward way to do the AudiCare. Maybe, they get a bonus if they sell it without the residual bump? Either way, $300 is about what it would cost you, if they charged you full price and raised the residual by 1%, so that's a wash.

Just got back from the dealer a few hours ago. So we are still at $799 39/10K with $1,000 total out of pocket and tax in.
The salesman couldn’t explain the $25 increase after adding Audi care since they lowered the purchase by $588 and it adds 1% to the residual. They want $824 with Audi care and 39 month lease.
The money factor was .00186 but they add .00010 totaling the MF to .00196. They said the finance department makes the .00010. Does that sound right??

You are right on when you say the payments will go up by $16 because when I asked for 36 months they said I would be paying $815 a month. What I didn’t realize is audicare is just for maintenance. They have excessive wear which is another $869.

Currently they are taking about 12.5% off the car and say that’s it we can’t do anymore. They are showing a $4,000 loss on their numbers and finance manager hasn’t seen a Q7 lease that low in 5 years. I don’t believe it but what are your thoughts on this?

Something else that was strange was that on the sheet it showed MSRP 64,400 and negotiated price $49,900 like it was a base 2.0. Are the options calculated separately??

Leasing is more confusing than it should be and I’m glad I only have to do it once every 3 years!

    1) They are correct.. that's a big discount for an Audi (but, $1000 of it is a dealer incentive from Audi)
    2) .00010 MF bump. Correct, the finance department makes that money. FROM YOU. Do you see any added value, there?
    3) If you are paying full price for the maintenance (and, if the payment is going up by $25/mo, you are), then the finance department is taking the extra $600 from you, as well.
    4) No way around 36/10 vs. 39/10. It's an extra $16/mo.

    5) All of the talk: We aren't making any money... We've never seen a Q7 payment this low, blah, blah, blah... means nothing.

If you were happy with the $785/mo. number, then just tell them: "$799/mo. for 39/10 w/Audicare, and $1000 due at signing, and we are good to go. Otherwise, I shop elsewhere, or for a different vehicle."
