Car tries to staqrt when connecting battery after replacing crank position sensor

My Escalade started stalling when idling or at low RPM while driving when stopping or accelerating . I replaced the crank position sensor and when I attempted to reconnect the battery the vehicle started trying to crank. It didn't start but it is trying to. I removed the starter to get to the sensor and had to remove the ground from the solenoid to get the starter out. Anyone ever had this issue?

I wonder if you grounded the wrong wire? Or if the solenoid is now sticking?

You might give the starter a good rap with a wooden block or a hammer (don't pound it too hard).

Your right. It was the solenoid. I didn't get the tab in the slot and it was touching another bolt. Its fine now. Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm referring to the tab on the ground wire to the solenoid.
