Special order waiting time

Hi, just bought Honda Accord Hybrid from a dealer. However my desired combination of exterior/interior colors was not available on the lot so the dealer promised to deliver within 2-3 weeks. Now that time frame is almost over but no car in sight and now the dealer does not even give any estimates ... I understand they have to order it directly from the manufacturer and that's a special order - how long does a special order take?

    It's doubtful that they have ordered your car. It's more likely that they are looking for a dealer trade, or checking the regional stock to see if they can acquire the vehicle you want.

    They certainly couldn't order a car, and have it arrive in two or three weeks.

    Perhaps, but if they can not find my car in the regional stock, sooner or later they will have to make a special order with the manufacturer, right? So their promised 2-3 weeks is a [non-permissible content removed] time frame, what would be the real time frame then?

    In my experience, Honda dealers don't order cars. Call them up and ask if your car has been ordered, or what they are doing to get it for you.

    Thanks, sounds good, will give them a couple of more days to respond ... I would be willing to wait as long as I know for how long ... which I don't
