What is a SAS core module (on a Mazda3) and significance of a DTC code?

Hi all,
I'm considering buying a 2007 Mazda3. When I asked the seller, a mechanic, to run the scanner on the car (just to be sure) and although the check engine light never came on, the scanner came back with a DTC code B1318 (decreased power to the SAS control module power supply).

My questions are: What does the SAS control module do and how significant is this code?

Thanks,
Alex

I think this refers to the SAS control module not being to operate properly at the battery voltage the car is now generating. So if the battery voltage were corrected, this code might no longer appear.

If the charging system checks out, and the battery load tests OK, I guess I'd erase the code and see if it returns.

The SAS isn't the only module that might be affected, but apparently it is one that is more sensitive to low voltage levels.
