Hi

We're looking to buy a new 2018 X1. The dealer is giving us a quote

MSRP $42,650
Discount $1,740
Combined Rebates $4,500 (must finance through BMW to use finance and loyalty rebates)
Adjusted Price $36,388
Doc Fee $150 (covers licensing department overhead)
Sales Tax $4,252.35
RTA Tax and estimated licensing $819
Total $41,639.35

BMW Financial featured APR is 3.5% for up to 60 months OAC

I'm a newbie on this. Is this number reasonable?

    Target 7% off MSRP (another $1000 less).
    The base APR is 2.50%, so that's marked up (which is typical for a BMW dealer)

    Either of those two items would knock about $20/mo. off a 60 month payment
    Both = $40/mo.

    Don't expect that to be an easy negotiation. Especially the APR part.
