Ok, I just finished installing a new factory 5.7l engine in my truck, after several attempts to get the distributor set in correctly I finally succeeded, However, now my starter will keep engaging after the engine has started. I have replaced starter and starter solenoid but still having same problem. Never had this issue before new engine install. Any suggestions?

You might find this VIDEO of interest to your problem. It concerns proper shimming of the starter motor.

Thank you, but pretty sure this is more of an electrical or wiring issue, my guess is ignition switch or a short of some sort causing wire to solenoid to stay hot when it shouldn't be.
