I bought this car a few months ago-her name is Wavy (short for Wayfarer). She’s a deep gunmetal gray/brown. She’s got a few bumps and dents, but who doesn’t? Any, I LOVE this car—she had 86K when I bought her, and now has 90K. Put new tires on. She still has a vibration above 60 mph though. And another weird thing—I made a hard right at high speed (testing her out on country roads) and she completely died. She started right back up, but what WAS that? I repeated the maneuver, and it happened again. She’s strictly speed limit now, and local roads only until I can get this figured out. Anyone have any ideas?

You can only guess at this point until you can determine what is dropping out---whether it's fuel, ignition or injector pulse. You may need to hook up to a scan tool to see if there are codes or historical data to help you diagnose.

I wonder if this would happen with a full gas tank?

Thank you-that’s really helpful and I will do that. And these incidences happened with 3/4 of a tank of regular, unleaded gas. Really appreciate the comment!

These kinds of problem are tricky. The symptoms suggest lose of fuel pressure but who knows if there's just a loose wire somewhere?

I do plan on having the timing belt replaced soon, so maybe they can find it when that happens. I’ll post what they find out. Thanks a million!
