2004 Mazda 3 ( tires ???)

Hi,
Regarding a 2004 Mazda 3 sedan.

Does anyone know if I can replace my 205/50R17 's
Mud/snows with 205/50R16 snow tires ( they are on rims ).

    If 205/50-17 is the correct size, then the 16" tires will be 1" short in diameter.

    That is a massive difference that will definitely throw off your speedometer/odometer, and possibly cause other problems.
