Looking for a car broker in New York

looking to finance a car and would like to use a broker due to my lack of knowledge/experience of working with dealerships. Research on this site has led me to believe that car brokers could be good or could just be another salesman. Any recommendations for the Long Island, New York area for a reliable car broker?
