Good deal/bad deal on a 2019 Q7 P+?

After shopping for a week my head is spinning and wanted to get a gut check from the community. We are in northern VA and were offered a 2019 Q7 P+ for $56,400 all in (with rebates and incentives).

This is the best deal we've been offered yet but after sitting in showrooms and hearing pitches it's tough to tell what is a "good deal" and what is the "best deal."

We considered using Car Bargains to verify but they are taking 11-13 days and we need a replacement before then--though we'll hold if the Edmunds community seems divided,

Thanks all for your input, m knowledge and experience.

  • MSRP is 64,300 including destination fee.

$7900 off MSRP looks pretty good.

Have you received an out-the-door price, with taxes and fees?
Your dealer could have some big dealer fees to make some of that up.

  • No tax because I live in DC and dealer is in VA so we pay a 8% DC excise tax. For Fees they said it was an all-in cost. But good point I need to confirm that in advance in writing so there are no pick up surprises.

We're just deciding if we should try a buying service or if that is about as good a price as we'll get.

It would be hard to beat that. You don't think the dealer will collect DC taxes? Are you financing it?

  • Thanks.  Seems like a good price. They want to move 2019s and are giving a better deal on it vs the 2018.  Last new car we bought issued a temp tag and reported it to DC and we stroked the excise check directly to the DC DMV.  Looking into any changes that may have been made in the process

If that price includes dealer fees, and there are no extras, other than your DC taxes and registration, that looks like a great deal.

  • So this is where it ends up. Inventory changed slightly. The only car they have has the cold weather package, MSRP $66,000. They are selling it to us for $56,590 plus $695 processing fee plus mandatory LoJack activation discounted to $395 (plus DC tax, tags and registration which theres no getting around).

Seems comparable to the other deal.

  • yes. was afraid of the hidden fees but as of this evening it does not look like there are any other costs. I'll report back to forum with price paid--hope it helps others negotiate the process

    Hi,
This looks like a great deal..is this for 3.0 premium plus or 2.0 model?
  • This was the 2019 3.0. The 2.0s were being delivered yet. Total came to $56,590 plus tax, tags, reg. Only non-negotiable fees were mandatory LoJack for $499 and processing fee $699.
